TESSA JOHNSON - BLUE OWL ICONS

My Blue Owl Icons began when two owls kept me awake in the woods at night, for a week, in 2021.  I had no idea what kind of owls they were because I never saw them.  I drew and painted them by day, they hooted by night.  It took 2 years to design and engineer these little gems into icons.  Each one has a zodiac constellation with planets in gold and stars in silver.  Owls and the night sky go together. The Icons are made of hand dyed Azure Blue Rag Paper, with watercolor, graphite, wildcrafted aspen sticks,and silver and gold, collaged on rag board. Each piece a shadow box completely consturected by Tessa, housed in a gold wooden frame with UV plexiglass.
